Re: 2008 Big 12 football predictions
KU @ USF (-3.5)
This should be a really good game. Were it being played in Lawrence or much later in the season, I might have picked KU. But, as it is in week 3, on the road, against a tough opponent, I've got to take the home team. Don't know much about USF's Offense, so KU could very well pitch another shutout. But, I have read a little bit about their defense, and it looks like they've got a pretty good D with excellent corners and pass coverage. Seeing as KU can't run the ball, this should make for an interesting game.
Nevada @ MU (-26.5) At home, doesn't look like this offense will be stopped.
SMU @ TT (-37.0) Tech, again, is a pretender. SMU sucks though. Still don't think they'll cover.
NM St. @ NU (-25) New coach. Lot of points to cover.
Ark @ UT (-24) Always seems to be a good game.
ISU @ Iowa (-13.5) I don't care.
Wash. St @ Baylor (+2) See ISU v. Iowa.
OU @ Washington (+20) Oklahoma is awesome this year. what's new?
Ohio St @ USC (-10.5) Wasn't too impressed with OSU last weekend.

Re: 2008 Big 12 football predictions
KU @ USF (-3.5) - KU's defense looks great and USF struggled last week against inferior competition.
Nevada @ MU (-26.5) - I might feel differently on the road but Nevada likes to run, Mizzou's strong point on D, and their starting tailback is out.
SMU @ TT (-37.0) - I want to take SMU because Tech is grossly underachieving but Rice beat them by 25 or so.
NM St. @ NU (-25)
Ark @ UT (-24)
ISU @ Iowa (-13.5)
Wash. St @ Baylor (+2)
OU @ Washington (+20) - Washington got jobbed last week and Oklahoma has had some difficulty in Pac-10 roadies.
Ohio St @ USC (-10.5) - Ohio State, your slip is showing.

Re: 2008 Big 12 football predictions
USF (-3.5) - I went back and forth on this one...home team and short week give USF the edge I'm thinking. Tough to travel 1/2 the country and a short week. Plus I think their D will give TR & co. problems.
Nevada (+26.5) - for some reason I have some blind faith in Nevada to put up points and hang
SMU (+37.0) - TT doesn't impress me and 37 points is a lot
NU (-25) - Still lot of points but the NMSt. trash talking gets NU going
UT (-24) - No real reason
ISU (+13.5) - My IU friends don't have much faith in IU
Wash. St (-2) - Baylor is yuck
OU (-20) - Would love to see UW get within 20 but I don't see it.
USC (-10.5) - No big 10 faith

Looks like more bad intelligence over at phognet.
The line is actually up to 4 as of last night at the MGM sports book.
KU @ USF (-3.5) - The money is coming in the Bulls and I love Leavitt, but have a gut feeling ku covers for some reason...

The only reason I picked KU in this game was because I thought South Florida would only win by a field goal. I am awesome.TheBigChuckbowski wrote: KU @ USF (-3.5)

I also knew Mark Mangino was going to wear a trash bag on the sideline the whole game.
I'm seriously that good.

Re: 2008 Big 12 football predictions
Why did most of the participants pick Washington State? The 3rd worst team in Division 1? The team that got beat down 66-3 last week by Cal?
Re: 2008 Big 12 football predictions
Because we just thought that Baylor would be that much worse. Oops
