Re: 2008 Big 12 football predictions
Any predictions for Week 2?
As far as our 3 local teams, I'll say that all 3 win. Though I think KU has the best chance to lose with LA Tech. Or maybe KSU with Montana State?
MU should roll over SEMO, 50-0.
KSU should be able to beat Montana State, 40-35.
KU should be able to beat LA Tech, 48-20.

I think SEMO will score on Mizzou.

Ok, so the score will be 52-2. J/KStL_Dan wrote: I think SEMO will score on Mizzou.

If KSU only wins by 5, there are going to be some unhappy wildcats around here.

I predict that KSU will kick a meaningless FG at the end of their game

Just a quick question: Why do you think KU is going to beat La Tech by a wider margin than they beat FIU? La Tech's a better team. Just wondering.kcmetro wrote: Kansas 42 Louisiana Tech 6

Because they will score more points and allow fewer points this time.

Re: 2008 Big 12 football predictions
As consistently dominant as our D has been, I have to think it will be very tough for LA Tech to score TD's on us. It's hard for me to see them getting more than 10 or 12 points against us. As another forum member mentioned, our D looks to be as good, if not better than last season. I also think some things will be addressed with regards to our O-line and running game...so hopefully that will add up to a relatively wide margin in scoring. It's hard to say right now though, since it's still early in the season.TheBigChuckbowski wrote: Just a quick question: Why do you think KU is going to beat La Tech by a wider margin than they beat FIU? If your opponent has more points than you when time runs out, you're probably going to lose.KCMax wrote: Because they will score more points and allow fewer points this time.

Re: 2008 Big 12 football predictions
I was going to post the Big 12 games ATS every week but found this site....If anybody would like to do weekly picks against the spread, join this group...
edit: nevermind, it's a pay site. I have a site setup on yahoo but they do top 25 games, not just big 12 games.

Re: 2008 Big 12 football predictions
OK I can't find a good site that does pick'ems just for a conference....so I'll keep a weekly running chart if people want to play.....every Tuesday I'll post the spread, post your picks in here and I'll tabulate each week.
Every right pick you get a point, every wrong is -1 point...push is a push. We will do every Big 12 game that has a line (for example, KSU/Montana St. has no line this week) plus one "marquee" matchup.
Hopefully a lot of people play. We'll start with this week, Week #2 and go through all Big 12 bowl games.
Here are the Week 2 games (I will always use Mirage numbers from vegasinsider.com BTW) For clarification, I always put the spread behind the home team. For you to win, a negative number means the home team has to win by over that amount, a plus number means the home team has to get beat by less than that number.
good luck.
San Jose St @ NU (-26)
Cinc. @ OU (-21)
Texas Tech @ Nevada (+10)
Houston @ OSU (-15.5)
Kent St @ ISU (-7)
LaTech @ KU (-20.5)
Texas @ UTEP (+26)
A&M @ New Mex. (+3)
Miami @ Florida (-21.5) - not much to choose from, this one is on ESPN
No lines: KSU, Baylor, Colorado, MU (all playing FCS teams)

big 12 heavy in the noncon games. i'll go ahead and say mizzou wins by 45 against SEMO, since i know you all wait on pins and needles to hear my insight.
