Way to end the season, Royals! Went Saturday and the Royals looked horrible, I MEAN HORRIBLE! Got bombed in front of a nearly 40k for the second straight night and it looks like Chicago will take the last game as well (5-0 in the sixth).

What do you think of this? We have dropped 15 games since the break, going from 7 up to 8 down and the Twins and Sox did not play well (Twins only started playing well in the last two weeks). If one of those teams played 550-600 ball this month, KC could be 15 games out by now.

Not trying to be negative, but was this year truly a fluke?

Regardless, I'll be back and hopefully "more" than 6500 season ticket holders next year.

I went on Sunday, and ovated on my feet for the Boys in Blue. Even though they were roundly defeated, it felt great to be there.

I think what happened towards the end of the season can be mainly attributed to 2 things :

1. A lot of young players that weren't used to playing a 162 game season.

2. Several veterans who weren't used to playing this many games that mattered.

Neither of these elements should be a factor next season.

Personally I think the real "fluke" of the season is how well we actually DID. Look at the patchwork starting lineup we had for most of the season...Beltran was gone for much of the opening month...Sweeney was out FOREVER...look at how many positions Desi Relaford had to play this season. If Pena doesn't win AL Manager Of The Year I'm going on a homicidal rampage. lol.

If we can avoid crushing injuries next season I think we'll win closer to 90 games & compete for the division title.
