Don't remember who I was talking to about this so I figured I'd put it in a new thread for all to see. These are the official "numbers" from the CVB when it comes to hotels....I've got the entire list of all metro hotels but here is the down and dirty.

Downtown hotels within 2 blocks of Bartle:
-Doubletree (388 rooms)
-Holiday Inn (186)
-Phillips (217)
-Marriott (983)

1,774 rooms within 2 blocks.

Downtown within 12 blocks of Bartle:
-Fairfield (116)
-Historic (100)
Savoy (18)
Hyatt (731)
Reidence (96)
Super 8 (115)
Westin (729)

that makes 2,798 rooms in KC's downtown. Notice these don't include holes in the wall like the Midwest hotel

Metro wide there are 27,875...not sure how far out they took those number..as in how far out of suburbs.

Seeing that and compared to other cities, I think we need a few more rooms in the 2 block area especially with a Bartle expansion.

I meant how many hotel rooms do other "major" cities have Downtown like Denver or StL.

don't have any CVB type numbers but I think right around that number....STL might have more like 27-30k

I more worry about the numbers right around the convention center, which I don't have for other cities.
