This is the loft project to the west of Union Station; at the corner of "Broadway" and Pershing.

I wasn't sure whether they were going to demolish this building and start from scratch or remodel the current building. They started removing the brick around the outside of the building, only to reveal a better looking facade. Anyhow, the revealed windows match the windows on the lower floors in the rendering.

Rendering of this project.

Another positive benefit of the IRS consolidation

Facade on Dakota Lofts

When they removed the former facade of the Dakota Lofts, it has revealed a cool art deco building that I never knew it had once been. The rendering doesn't appear to be incorporating that feature into the new design, which is a shame. The original art deco exterior would be a better fit with the surrounding neighborhood than the newer and more contemporary design.

The eastern facade is pretty cool. Its just concrete, but the detail they put into it is quite nice. They will be covering it up with bricks, just as it was before. Maybe in another 50-100 years, someone will discover what's underneath again.
