The Senate Buffet was next door to the Kansas City School of Law on Baltimore. The First National Bank annex building was built there, and the Library is there today.

"Seeing Kansas City street cars, an attraction for out-of-town visitors and those who wished a scenic ride to view residences and apartments along Kansas City streets, were much like the regular street cars of the Metropolitan street railway system in Kansas City in 1908. The car pictured on the old postcard shows a stop to view the park.

The special cars were easily identified by signs with an especially large one in front above the cowcatcher. Tickets were sold for the sightseeing street cars at the Owl Drug Store, 920 Main, where the tour started and ended."

The sign on the top left of this one says "HOME KILLED MEATS"?  Mmm mmm.

Wow, can you imagine how cool this area would be today if it had not been torn down?  I imagine all those little buildings fixed up with boutiques and markets...would have been cool. 

A photo of 12th and Grand from 1910 shows the One Cent Theater, the Canadian Hotel, Wonderland, and the Jones Store.

The Jones Bros. Merchantile Co. warehouse at 1423-41 W. 9th Street in the West Bottoms.  It was a successor to the Kemper-Paxton Merchantile Co.

Adam Jones needs to put the cupola back on the Jones Bros. tower.  (He should have called it the Jones building rather than the Hobbs when he renovated)
