Saw a program about Medellin, Columbia, where they installed gondolas to serve hillside shantytowns and it has tremendously improve q.o.l. for poor residents.

Clear renderings for Sunflower's project at 505 Central. These come from the Generator Studio (architect) Twitter page.

Here's to hoping we can get more multi-family (or anything for that matter) in Downtown KCK.

Shame they couldn’t do ground floor commercial, but it’s so far set back that it makes sense why they didn’t.

Nice project for that area. No pushback from the single family areas behind it?

I remember watching the meeting on this one several months ago. Neighbors were upset by the project's size, traffic it would bring, parking garage access, usage, "taking our views away" and so on. You know, the typical NIMBY stuff. The commission approved of the plan at the time and it advanced.

This is the petition they tried to use to stop the project: https://www.change.org/p/protect-our-hi ... 9bfb76ff77

Project has received final approval from the UG. I hadn't realized that 120 parking spaces would be underground

The developer is working to finalize pricing and contractors/subcontractors. Construction could start in late spring or early summer at the earliest, said Katherine Carttar, executive director of the Urban Land Institute's Kansas City office. Carttar worked with Sunflower on the project when she led economic development for the UG.
