Anybody know about the status of the tall building at 19th and Walnut, development plans, etc? It stands quite tall in the middle of many lower rise buildings and has a commanding view. I believe the election commission might have offices in part of it, and, it was at one time a Post Office building (as engraved stone suggests). The structure always catches my eye when I see it from a distance because it almost looks like a headstone sticking up out of the surrounding blocks.

1826 walnut is the addy and it's called the corrigan building. and yes, the KCEB has offices on the first floor (maybe more... i've heard they store election records there, too). you can go to the lobby on the walnut side to cast an absentee or provisional ballot.

the nicholson group owns the building. details are at http://www.nicholsongroup.com/propDetail.asp?f=list&i=8.
