Since I don't really feel like typing a lot right now, I'll just say that my trip to Fenway Park via the T from Cleveland Square adjacent to the Boston University Campus was friggin' incredible.

I love old school cities, and Boston is an old school paradise in terms of architecture, history, and tradition.

AND, there is a Dunkin' Donuts on ever corner. Mmmmm....jelly filled with a some creamy coffee.....

I definitely loved Boston when I went. Some of the nicest people you'll ever meet in a city's urban core. And the history in that downtown is amazing!

The only thing is that driving in that city is a BITCH. I had an easier time driving in Manhattan than there. Everything is under construction, the roads are incredibly confusing, and parking is outrageously expensive.

I hear that.

Boston's streets were the antithesis of Johnson Counties north/south, east/west roadways. In a strange way, though, I could see the charm in it.

I flew into Boston and used a rental car and the T for my transportation needs. In Manhattan, we used the subway and cabs only.

If only the Cards would've beat the Yanks that Saturday, the vacation would have been complete.

Yeah, Boston is not a city for driving. I have a hard enough time walking there, with streets going every which way, but that's part of why I like it. Being as compact as it is(and as KC can be too), it really caters to widespread use of public transportation and walking. It's great walking around the city in the summer, taking in the architectural, natural, and human scenery, and knowing that all the people you see do the same.

I can't wait for KC to reach that point.

Boston rocks....my buddy just moved there and the only thing I don't like about it, is his attitude now that he lives in Boston...he thinks it's heaven....of course he grew up in Ark City, KS so this is his first "big city" time......I get tired of dealing with his, "we have this, we're better"....made me dislike Boston some.

City is great....went to Fenway, place is just awesome.....got a little tired of looking at headstones of people that have been dead for 200+ years though.

I think those headstones are cool! The skull with wings is really interesting, and maybe indicative of the fear that people then had of death.

Tradition states that the streets on the old Boston peninsula were laid out by cows. That is that they were originally cow paths that became streets over the years. How much truth there is to this is uncertain, but if one has seen the streets, one would have to ask, maybe?

That's the tradition is just about every city where the downtown streets aren't in a grid, expesially in Europe.
