Agreed on moving. Maybe Paseo West or something along 18th Street will be considered. If SKC leaves KC Metro their crazy, attendance only slipped becuz the team is losing.

Paseo West, the NKC site or West Bottoms (Hale Arena site) make a ton of sense. But just like we've talked about how MO probably won't want to lose their last football team, I can't imagine KS will want to lose their last major league pro team.

Rosedale Park would be interesting - SKC put the arch on their jerseys last year. Obviously terrain and access aren't ideal.

The site I don't want to speak into existence is Fairfax after GM ramps down production there...

I agree it will be tough for them to move to MO. KS built this last stadium for free with Star bonds. I’d love to see them do something like that but in downtown KCK, rosedale, or Armourdale. Open a downtown hotel and gambling district? Connect it to kcmo with a gondola.

KS for some reason has something against 7th street casino in KCK. Didn't grant them a sports betting license last year

Trade Chiefs for SKC downtown and bistate funding for all three (Royals, Chiefs, SKC). It's the best deal Kansas can get.

It would be super fun downtown but it needs to be a tight stadium not surrounded by parking.

It could be fairly small, but they'd probably want blocks off parking or garages.

Rosedale does have some good views as well. Somewhere on Southwest Blvd on the Kansas side could be a good idea as well.

I bet SKC is playing at the riverfront stadium in 5-10 years. They'll only need to expand it by 7-8,000 seats.

Yes, they did say it has the capacity to expand, but I do question what that experience would be like. The lower bowl at NWSL is pretty small.

Because it's not a great stadium.. it's very average. It was nicer when the rest of the league was ten years behind ten years ago.

It's in a mediocre environment. Literally in the middle of nowhere in Wyandotte County. People want urban stadiums. Not to be next to an NFM. Legends as a whole is extremely underwhelming. Folks who think it's some kind of destination strip mall need to go visit an actual destination strip mall in any of Americas large cities. Heck, Boise has one that is 1000x better than "The Legends". It's a dump. If I want to visit Ross and a gas station, then I'll gladly go two minutes away to the nearest location. Not the legends. LOL

There's no way SKC moves to a stadium they don't totally control. They'll want all the concessions, all the extra concert money, events, parking, etc. They'll want a residential/office component that they control like the Royals are seeking. No way they share the money stream with the Current. If they move close to DT, they will demand a stadium be built and the city will jump at the chance to do it.

Agree they will want their own higher quality stadium. I think they could share a stadium with NWSL but the Current stadium isn’t ready to be an MLS stadium.

Wouldn't be shocked to see NKC make a move after the Royals announce EV site.

NKC would be an awesome site for SKC to move.

I’d suspect a very heavy & ugly fight should Sporting think about leaving KS. They built an amazing soccer specific stadium, the template for other MLS franchises to copy. If there is a move it would mean a lot of change to the franchise most likely including ownership change. Certainly could happen but just seems like an up hill struggle

It's fine on the KS side. But it would have been better in Overland Park or downtown KCK. That village west area is just terrible. There is just something about that area that makes me cringe. I can't stand that area. The speedway and legends shopping center is fine I guess, but putting all that other stuff out there is just silly. It's so spread out and far from the developed part of the metro. Just a funky exurban area.

They had nowhere else to go at the time, never forget that. Every other site had fallen apart. It was Legends or relocation.
