So many great memories of Bannister Mall. Can't wait to go to Kay-Bee Toys, Olga's Kitchen, Tape World and JRiggins again.

Personally, I'd like to see new water features that provide water quality benefits. Expose some of the buried streams, put in some landscaping, create a couple pools and put fountains in the pools for aeration. What if we had a brook in Brookside again?

If we do add more traditional fountains, I'd prefer them to be the interactive type like the one at the south end of Davis Park.

It does have that 1980 Bannister vibe to it with all of the wood ceilings.

Rita Blitt sculpture, originally installed in 1980 at Bannister Mall. Her work was always aspirational in tone, as is the fountain piece.

What ever happened to those Bannister Mall sculptures?

What about the plants? Are these going to survive the renderings? Seems like an awfully busy area for plants to survive. Are there examples in other airports? I'm having a little trouble coming up with one.

I think seeing this in motion would help confirm or put fears to rest.

The big yellow one that was in the center of the mall is now on the UMKC campus between the union and the rep. Don't know about the others.

That's what I was thinking. I think it should be fine. I do wonder if all that wood is too much of a fad, but I guess anything you build will be dated at some point.

While I would expect something new will be put in place eventually, art is timeless.

If you like it you like it. If you don't like it you don't. When it is from irrelevant.

The Nelson Atkins has a collection ranging across thousands of years. I'm certain there's zero people who enjoy every piece of work in their collections.

It’s been three months since the last proper status report was released. Anybody know what’s up?

Has there been any news about airport lounges?

I read today that capital one is looking to build more and make them open to non-card members and focus on shorter trips.

Based on their two picks so far, we probably don’t have enough traffic, but a new exclusive build might be appetizing.

The progress video shows one lounge is being built (the far concourse) but doesn't show the one by the entrance. I assume they will be leaving that for when demand picks back up.

I believe the plan was for two lounges at the new KCI -- and I would imagine that they would go to the two most recent operators: Delta and American. American will almost certainly want a lounge if BA service to Heathrow starts (which appears likely as soon as Europe re-opens from the pandemic). Delta may be less certain, but they run more seat-miles from KC than United.

A credit card lounge would be unlikely, as the volume wouldn't justify it.
