I agree.  Downtown may have lost this one, but the Kansas City area wins, IMHO.

That's all we can do now.

Thankfully, it looks as thought that may be dramatically changing over the next 5 years.

It will be interesting to see how the new and improved TSC and Busch III/BPV develop simoultaneously the next several years.

You keep rationalizing that, while we enjoy Ballpark Village and the shot in the arm it adds to our DT.  Have fun saving that extra few hundred mill amoritized over 25 years and divided over hundereds of thousands of people.....that was a great decision.

yup, we're getting all of that too...but it's larger than ballpark village.  We shall both enjoy.

I'll give you credit for P&L, it's one of the only things you guys seem to be doing right.  But voting renovations and no roof?! Dumb.

Pretty sure we're not losing the blues...they just got a new owner.  You should keep up on current events.

I'm fine with the renovations to Arrowhead, but crap, the Royals need to deliver a decent product to get me excited about going out to the K.  New bathrooms aren't going to cut it for me.

As far as downtown, let's not get too full of ourselves.

We still have to deal with:
-no decent mass transit.
-high vacancy rates in the Class A office space.
-a massive debt load on the Entertainment District that unless the retail meets projections, will have to be heavily subsidized by the city.
-a lagging convention business.
-no major tenant for the Arena.
-a Performing Arts Center plan that is heavily short of funds.
-sewers that are obsolete.

A downtown stadium wouldn't have cured all those ills, but it would have helped create better mass transit, helped the retail district and helped the Class A office space.

Fuck.

No where, he has no clue what he is talking about, in fact the new owner is talking upgrades to savvis and a possible Basketball team.

No...SMART!!  We keep the teams, and make it cheaper on ourselves.  And I am sure this is not the last we have heard of the rolling roof...

It's a shame we don't have a Mayor who's an advocate for DT - he/she could repeat your points and make a strong case to the electorate. Oh yeah, we used to.

Yea and a superbowl would have forced this city and state to spend some damn money and clean up the city and get transit going.  (well wishfull thinking anyway)

And I predict the Royals will be gone before the leases expire in 2031

I also predict the Roof will happen.

The Hunts will most definitely want the recognition of accomplishing the task of bringing a SB to KC now that they've saved a bundle on coaxing the public to finance their place of business.

We can loan you Slay...if you'd voted for the rolling roof that is!

as in contracted or moved?  You and chef are very similiar...you find "users" on here that you don't like they opinion on one thing about and you then follow them around the site disagreeing or posting against whatever they say.  Let it go dude...life is too much fun.
