The 12th Street Theater on 12th between McGee and Grand. It also operated as the Downtown Theater. It later was called The Esquire.

The Hotel Kansas Citian just south of 12th and Broadway, southwest corner, where the vacant lot is now. It was also called The Commonwealth Hotel at one time.

The Mark Twain Building was originally the Kansas City Athletic Club, and also was later the Continental Hotel, and also Hotel Kansas Citian for a short time.

Eddy's Nightclub on the SW corner of 13th and Baltimore. This club was operated by the family of former Kansas City council member Chuck Eddy. The Power & LIght Apartments are there now.

I wish everyone could have seen that gigantic Pontiac sign at night. It had a gazillion lights that would perform an impressive show in waves and flickers. People referred to its location as Signboard Hill. Thank you for posting a wonderful memory.
