Harlem Globetrotters - January 3rd - 6th

Tickets are cheap for upper deck endzone for only $15 bucks but then it raises all the way up to $45, $71, and $121.

Kind of outrageous is you ask me, they are really milking the new arena thing. The only reasonably priced event is the CBE Classic which I will be attending!

I think that the newness will wear off in time and the ticket prices will eventualy level off.

there may indeed be a "new arena premium" on tickets to some extent, but keep in mind that tickets to big concerts at Kemper were expensive as well.  Cher tickets were like $100, etc.

But a good concert Nickleback and Puddle of Mudd were only $45 at Kemper.

sure, and we have no idea how much those tickets would be at the sprint center.  the Hannah Montana tickets were relatively reasonably priced until they were posted on Ebay by scalpers.

Arenas tend to attract bands/performers of mass appeal.  It's no surprise.  Most with specialty appeal want to perform in a smaller quaint environment or an appropriate place for limited appeal  You won't see Latvian throat singers as the headliner at the arena.

So expect more bookings with mass appeal.

Though I'd rather see The Cure at the arena than at Starlite.

Ticket prices and arena newness do not go hand-in-hand.  The artist will require the same ticket price in KC as in Omaha, Phoenix, and so on.

For some acts, they're within a range of only $5 or so. One example is Van Halen.

My best friend scored the first 2 Globetrotters tickets sold, he and his daughter will be right at courside. :)

The Globetrotters are getting anywhere from $17 to $132 for a five night run at the ARCO Arena in Sacramento. Hardly a new arena.

The prices are what they are these days. This is nothing unique to The Sprint Center.

Looks like I will have to admire the SC from the outside besides college basketball and the Brigade.

One variance would be different markets have different user fees and that will reflect in the price of the tickets.  However, for the majority of the acts the base ticket price will be the same no matter the market.
