Walnut would be for Spark and other various projects taking place. Unlikely the entire lane would be utilized.

13th is probably for Sinkers Lounge buildout.

Not sure on the Grand permit. We used to request and pay for blanket permits for walnut and grand when I was there so we could utilize closures when needed.

That makes sense. Interesting enough the permit fee was $0.

Garment District isn’t going to make the cut after this coronavirus shutdown. They were hoping to keep it open for another year or so but it’s over.

Angels Rockbar won’t be opening back up either. Look for a different venue to expand into that space.

Anyone else annoyed by the work taking place on the streets and sidewalks? I'm not sure what they're working on but doing a great job of destroying the pavement and sidewalks.

14th between Grand and Walnut. Walnut between 13th and 14th. I've also seen them over on 13th. Metal plates everywhere and I just hope when they're done, things get repaired properly, especially the sidewalks.

There's spray painted markers all over the roads and sidewalks.

they are running roughshod all over the city and not being held accountable for any of it. Frustrating for sure. Westside had Summit tore up once that closed down the road for months, opened back up, now it was closed again for weeks. Broadway was in shambles for months (temporarily patched for Super Bowl parade), midtown has multiple examples.

The Missouri Legislature has limited the amount of control that municipalities have over placement of certain utilities, so KCMO may actually not have much say in what's happening.

I just hope everything gets restored back to the way it was. Especially the sidewalks which are currently a nightmare of asphalt and metal plates.

Hey, their sidewalks and if they want to let a sponsor park on them, go for it. At least they put them out of the normal walking path.

Ironic to complain about one thing messing up sidewalks yet defending Cordish doing it with ads, construction fence, etc. Safe and available pedestrian passage should be (and is in the downtown plan) #1 priority.

I think making money to keep places open is the #1 priority. Big difference between carefully placed cars that do not impede pedestrians at all and asphalt, metal plates that you must walk over to utilize the sidewalk. I can see an argument if you have to walk around the cars, but that’s not the case.

Lord help us if cars on the sidewalk is what is going to save P&L and stop the bleed out of the general fund.
