Just a few misc minor observations from a quick drive-thru I did after lunch today:
  • 14th Street is now 2-way between Wyandotte and Baltimore (which as we know has re-opened).
  • The on-street parking on 14th on this block has been changed from parannel to angled parking.  This is a big improvement and I hope to see it happen throughout the district.
  • All appears normal at The President
  • There is finally construction taking place on the 13th & Baltmore block, though I could not find a good vantage point for seeing exactly how far it has come.

I noticed, this weekend, that the Baltimore bridge is open again. How long has it been open?

I recently purchased a 2006 Road Atlas (being that I am on the road 100%) and I found some intersesting additions to the downtown KC inset map.  They have listed the KC Live district and the Srint center as attractions downtown, both were listed as U.C.  Nothing to major but I thought it was cool that those were both listed on the inset map.

^that is very cool, considering that the 2005 version had Bannister Mall listed as a destination.

anyone have any guesses as to when we'll see actual buildings going up? They are planning to begin opening in stages this year, so shouldn't we see some street level building going on soon?
Are you sure we're talking about the same God here, because yours sounds kind of like a dick.

Pretty good bet that "phase 1" will be the restaurants, food court, and theater in the H&R Base.

No you are wrong. It is not KC Live, it is Power and Light LIVE!. You get your facts straight moron. KC Live is not used at all by Cordish in reference to this project.

Quote taken from Cordish's official Power and Light District website: http://www.powerandlightdistrict.com/We ... erview.htm
"The heart of the district will be Power and Light LIVE!, a collection of nighttime venues focused around a covered outdoor plaza designed for major concerts."

Yet when you run their intro, there is a banner that says Kansas City Live.

Is name calling necessary over something this petty???  Drop it.

Sounds to me like they (Cordish) are throwing a bunch of different name combinations out there to see what sticks.  The commonality that all the name combinations have seem to be this:

KC (or Kansas City)
Power & Light
Live!

So working with those combinations, what else can we expect to see in the future?

POWER LIVE!

or how about

Live! Light  (scaled down version from original vision)

Just my $.02  :D
(guess I should add one of these in here... ;) it just another one of my lame attempts at humor)

It's all in flux right now....the CVA's site calls the block "KC Live!"

http://www.visitkc.com/meeting_planner/ ... c_live.htm

Also Cordish stated in this article that the block would be named KC Live

http://kansascity.bizjournals.com/kansa ... ily13.html

"Cordish said Kansas City Live would become the name of one block in the entertainment district where live entertainment will be the focus."

It doesn't really matter either way, let's focus on more important items please.  I wouldn't lean on the powerandlightdistrict.com site, it's not the most up to date on anything.

The place must be doomed if they can't even get the name right.

I may be right.  I may be wrong.  But there is a lot of gray area in-between.

Yeah...and on Cordish's web site for a very long time in the link it was called it the Power and Lights District. Now I guess if I was Justin Aronongant or whatever I'd start ridiculing people for getting the name wrong based on a typo by a web designer. Further, this is such an important issue thanks to Piper Justin for pointing it out.
