Love Warren.

Hate that MF Jimmy.  His music is on par with the Barney theme.

(oh, and he once stole a girlfriend from me)

I too was thinking of a food buffet - til I noticed the second t.

Buffett used to play here periodically but he got mad about something at what was then Sandstone and swore he would never play here again. Funny, it seemed like a big deal at the time but after he started collaborating with the likes of Toby Keith and became the CEO of Margaritaville, I kinda lost interest.

To be clear -- I have less than zero interest in seeing Buffett and I will probably steer clear of the general area if I remember he's playing.  But there is no question that his fans will drop a ton of dough pre- and post-partying and fill most of DT's hotel rooms.

Hate to tell you guys this, but most of the crowd that actually goes to a Jimmy Buffett concert are WAY younger than 50.  Have no idea if it is true, someone gave me the link to this website

http://www.buffettworld.com/2011/01/13/ ... qus_thread.

No matter how you feel about him, it would be a money maker all the way around.  The thing with Sandstone had something to do with them not allowing people to tailgate.  Apparently the parking lots at his concerts could get pretty crazy and it is/was considered part of the experience.

Jimmy Buffett seems much more appropriate for the Independence Events Center....

I am shocked to see young people attracted to a culture that involves heavy alcohol consumption.

Well, at least they are being sensible about sex and drugs.

His music provides a good backdrop for island hopping on a sailboat. I'm not embarrassed to admit to being a recovering Parrot Head. And there was never a show in town where tailgating didn't happen - he may have been miffed because they officially said it wasn't allowed, but somewhere I have pictorial evidence that their attempt failed.

This will be great for downtown hotels and restaurants if true.

Buffett sold out in less than an hour. Didn't know so many people wanted to see the "Oracle of Omaha."

I actually tried to buy tix - got "in" at 9:59 and watched ticketmaster animations for the better part of 10 minutes, telling me my wait would be less than a minute, no wait, 8 minutes, no, 5 minutes, no 10 minutes (wtf?). After all of that, I was kindly offered 4 upper-level seats for $400. Decided the out of towners we were going to take could sit on our deck drinking margaritas and listening to CDs.
