2nd to last in MLB attendance.
It baffles me that there is such an outcry to "save the royals from moving" during the offseason, yet during the season nobody goes to the games. I guess people just like seeing Kauffman Stadium on MetroSports or RSTN during the summer.
That is so sad.  If it makes anyone feel anybetter, replace the mlb in the link with nfl, and KC is #3 in the league.

People like going to the K because its easy to get through traffic, parking, and to your seat when there are only 10,000 other fans around you. I swear, sometimes I think this town WANTS to be minor league.

I don't know about others, but I'd rather see more public dollars go for Kauffman then Arrowhead.  (Not more then aready are, just more then are going to Arrowhead).  They need it more.

The Chiefs deserve it far more than the Royals do. Once the Royals have a winning season, they can get their renovations.

that thinking is as pathetic as i have ever heard. in 1989, the shoe was on the other foot. the owners were renegotiating leases, and, the talk all over kc was yeah, build that new jumbo tron for the royals, expand the water spectacular, put in a grass field, but the chiefs, grass field and nothing more, they do not deserve renovations, screw them, they have been losing for 18 years now.

wow, that sounds like what we are hearing about the royals now. too bad their string of futility is not quite 18 years yet.

Don't you think the competitive landscape has changed a weeeee bit since then, Cook?

Come on man.  MLB is guaranteeing losing Royals teams practically.  It's a bad investment right now.  We shouldn't change until THEY change.  Period.

He really hates that, and you know he does. I see no reason to sit by while you blatantly insult.

You don't need a panel! Just vote yes and leave the difficult decisions to the experts.

I'm over myself. You were the one that was warned for being intentionally difficult.

If you want to encourage neighborhood redevelopment, want the stadium to be close to a potential light rail line and other amenities and want a neighborhood location like Wrigley then why not build it in Swope Park right at the corner of Swope and 63rd. It would be a great boost for the area, it's got lots to do around it, it's a beautiful setting and it wouldn't take up prime taxable land downtown.

Because it's not right next to a SOOPERhighway. The city and David Glass aren't interested in anything but suburban baseball, because they have a mental block. "Where will everyone park? Every single person will need a parking space!"

Honestly though,
either way you swing on this topic...there could be a potential problem when there is a UMKC game, concert @ Kemper, festival in the river market, BBall game @ DT stadium, varius events at the new ball room, a politcal party convention, another convention @ bartle hall, NHL @ sprint, and all the new people located DT out on a first friday, and the entertainment area being full of life all at the same time...that could pose a parking problem...and it could all be a real possibility...with no major DT public transit and a lacking bus service...damn..shoulda kept the trolley lines
