Polsinelli rate for West Edge will top Country Club Plaza average, even with incentives

PS signs 20-year lease.

PS stands to pay nearly $38 a square foot to lease West Edge, a departure from the average $25 rate for office users in and around the Plaza.

Kansas City becomes legal owner of the building and garage to make state incentives available, but Kansas City does not guarantee the bonds. Garage available to the public after work hours.

I'm digging this a lot more than the initial PS rendering for the site. While still sort of generic, it is somehow a lot more appealing.

Oh it looks much better than that. I'm pleased that it fronts the street, and will have services on the ground level. Not to mention the fact that all of this will FINALLY BE RESOLVED.

"FINALLY BE RESOLVED."
I wouldn't bet on it.

I hear that Four Seasons may take the hotel spot at West Edge. Word is they were in town last week. If so, it would be a great addition and would be the top hotel name on the Plaza.

Looks like west side tower crane being taken down. Belleview is closed at 48th street and traffic detour is a mess.

The all glass P&S portion looks crappy and doesn't fit in at all. The hotel portion is still in the original Moshie Safdie fashion and looks better, but it still not fully enclosed.

Thanks - I was wondering what the status was since there hasn't been much discussion. Sucks about the glass. Incredibly important. New glass tower going up in Chicago (Optima Tower) where the architect/developer clearly insisted on high end glass and man, it makes a difference. Incredible what good glass does for a building, compared to cheaper glazing. Sounds like they went cheap with West Edge.
