I don't see much of a "K" in that S-C combo logo. Is there supposed to be a K in there?

Not as bad as the new Omaha Royals name change/rebrand, also SC, btw.

Doesn't matter - you won't be able to see it on the uniforms because some corporation's name will dwarf it.chrizow wrote: what a lame logo. it looks like some cyborg police badge in a weak sega genesis game.
If it doesn't have street-level retail, it's an abortion.

Re: 2010 Kansas City Wizards
The part where the lines taper off in the body at the top-left looks like the Missouri-Kansas border. I like the sentiment, but it leaves too much negative space at the top center. I'm waiting for the explanation on Wednesday. I don't hate it, what we had was crap before, but I'm certainly not in love either. Other speculation is that the stylized SC stands for soccer club, to differentiate from the other teams they're buying. I've heard multiple times they've already purchased the KC Blues in rugby. If that's the case, maybe there will be an RC on their version.

Re: 2010 Kansas City Wizards
That logo is terrible. I don't understand what the light blue stripes on the left side are supposed to be or represent. The "SC" looks weird. I know it's for "Soccer Club" but how many people will know that? For all most people know, the "SC" could stand for Santa Claus, Storm Chasers, South Carolina, Sprint Center, or Sporting City. SC? Hate it! Not that the previous logo was much better (look at it in my signature line). But it was simple and widely recognized.
But, I could live with the logo if the NAME didn't sound so ridiculous. Sporting Kansas City? LAME! Sporting Wood would be much better. Sporting Kansas City Wood. At least that way, we might get a better logo.

I'm warming to the name the more I say it. Time and winning heals all. I think Sporting is a unique enough word that it could become a regional brand over time. We'll see what the official name is tomorrow. Some of you should stop by if you work downtown -starts at 5:30pm. I'm sure they'll be giving us beer food etc to win over the supporters.
This logo does make me realize my state looks like a race car with a badass spoiler.
There are 11 lines counting the dark blue, speculation on bigsoccer (appropriately nicknamed BS) that it's for the 11 players on the field, or maybe something with the jersey (which isn't ready). I think KC would get down on a new killer interlocked KC, but the SC is ehhh both in wording and style.

Well it does fly in the face of KC Rag convention. You're supposed to hate and bitch about everything.KCPowercat wrote: I'm too easy I guess. I like the name change and shield.

i do think the name Sporting Kansas City is fine. i just wish the logo didn't look like the third-place entry in some community college graphic design contest.

I hate your post. It sucks. KC Raggers do not complain about everything. I hate it when people say KC Raggers complain about everything. That sucks.KCFutbol wrote: Well it does fly in the face of KC Rag convention. You're supposed to hate and bitch about everything.

Sounds like a sporting goods store based in Kansas City. Don't like the name.

Re: 2010 Kansas City Wizards
I like the name alright as long as we're able to keep Wizards as the informal nickname. A la Gunners or Red Devils.

If you want to see where they want to go with the Sporting KC concept, look no further than Sporting CP:

Re: 2010 Kansas City Wizards
Liking Sporting KC....cool little presentation at P&L but the balls they threw out only had a sticker with the new logo? Come on Adidas. Love the switch to the new brand on all channels...web, twitter, etc. Although their web favicon is still Wizards logo
