This tweet is interesting too.

If I'm reading this right total taxable sales inside the original TDD rose by $245 million since 2013. That's the kind of success the system was supposed to create.

Free rides were way more important that just getting more people to ride it, that's for sure. It was key to showing investment the foot traffic and people their investment could draw from

I think the tweet says ~$150million increase from mixed use properties alone, ~$2million increase in sales taxes. That is without taking into account single use properties, empty lots, increased payrolls, etc.

Will the new cars have to go through testing? How long, and when will they do it? Daytime?

804 didn't take too much testing.

Is 806 a month behind? More?

If only those 2 lanes taken out of service were converted to two dedicated lanes of streetcar.

Yes. The burn-in period is based on miles. I think it'll take about a month and the testing will be all hours. You won't be able to board the vehicle that's testing.

806 won't be far behind.

All during service hours or any off time testing?

Also, are they completely identical to our current ones?

I'll find out.

Yes, identical to current ones, except maybe the tiny operable windows -- which we never open -- were deleted.

2 questions:

During peak events, will operations be capped to 4 vehicles?

Are the Urbos 3’s upgradable to an operation coupler? IE. Could we install a normal coupler and run double trains sometime in the distant future?

none of the stations would work with double trains.

Would be a bit of a mess on shared roads too.

Strange Days now has a real-time arrival screen:

We don't have the ability to couple two vehicles for revenue service (only towing). As others mentioned, our platforms aren't long enough.

We got the operable windows, apparently, so no major differences.

Could we run 5 at once, or would separation become an issue?

That's pushing the boundaries of our mixed traffic operation, but it's technically possible. The whole point of adding two was to up our "spare ratio", so it's unlikely that we would ever operate five for that reason alone.
