Anything more specific? I like the design and that it's what? 9 stories?
Atleast 6 stories. First two stories are retail, third story is a restaurant, above that is just residential I heard

Mayor asked Twitter what changes the Plaza needs.

I’m seeing more saying restriction of tall residential than pro-development tweets.

Crissy Dastrup, running for council, had an interesting idea to build on the Plaza tennis courts spot and put new tennis courts on top of the development

That's not her idea, but it's a good one.

^Have been bringing up better use for tennis courts for years. Maybe she's been perusing the Rag.

Build a streetcar TOD public center with a welcoming arch for the Plaza or something to that effect.
- Four+ floors with small market or Urban Target on lowest level, coffee/bagel shop, etc
- Move Plaza library to second floor (better access to streetcar than 50th/Main)
- Top floors indoor tennis courts and/or other public indoor rec center activities
- Rooftop tennis courts
- Could also have MainCor security office (whatever they are now called) and/or KCPD foot patrol office - some form of 'safety zone' presence

We could close off the Plaza streets and have a bus running through it as a mall ride like they do in Denver 16th street mall. That way people on the other edge of Plaza could get transported to the streetcar stop too without having to walk the distance.

Presumably you do not know him personally. Perhaps you should engage and find out for yourself? There's always an opportunity. Takes a little more work than shit-posting on a forum.

I'm a constituent who he's continually ignored when placing calls/e-mails. Many issues in his district he seems not to care to address and a bad look when a neighborhood voices concerns they are ignored but he's tweeting all the time.
I have had the same experience regarding 2 separate issues. I have always managed to get a response from other council members. I've heard the same thing from more than 1 neighbor.

Not a good look but at least there are enough people who believe in change that a debate took place. Still sucks to see Kansas City be so stagnant. They are going to make their “housing crisis” worse; which I assume the lack of demand will offset some.
