Two cars all day today? Amazing the LOS change it makes. I've heard complaints all day.

Be nice if they could let us know why. Very good at social media until there are problems then it seems we get radio silence.

Hopefully the questioning doesn't come across as ungratefulness, we all understand the team works hard and will go through some growing pains in the first year....it's more of a compliment that so many are actually relying on the service so quickly....and we don't want to see "unreliable" creep into people's (ie. future voters) minds.

yea, WTF!!!! I was going to use the streetcar this morning but nope, the next streetcar was like 15 minutes away.. We need 5 minute headways, not 15-20!!!! completely unreliable for real world usage. Sure on a weekend I can wait 20 minutes, but when I have to get to work, meeting, ect or only have an hour for my lunch break, I can't rely on the streetcar anymore.... Whats the point of even running it at all with 18 minutes headways???????

According to published "holiday hours" it's 2 streetcars until the beginning of next year....Not sure if this is planned or due to issues....It does say 3 cars during peak times but doesn't clarify when that is.

5 minute headways are unrealistic in my opinion...But it is quiet a difference in service between 10-12 and 15-18 headways....Especially when it's cold

When asked what Peak times means...."varies between weekend and weekdays".

Not sure why it's hard to provide those peak time hours.... Unnecessarily vague for some reason?

I never saw 3 running yesterday in what I'd consider peak hours....Morning, lunch, pm commute....Seems the 3rd card talk during holiday hours was a bit of vaporware

Riding today, I overheard a conversation wherein one guy referred to the streetcar as the "bum express".

I wouldn't think 3:30pm on a Thursday is a peak time but there are three on the route right now....First time I've seen it all week

Seeing as the original plan was to have 2 with 1 in reserve, perhaps there is some accumulated deferred maintenance that has needed to happen?

I thought they were only planning on running 2 cars most of the time. The crazy popularity caused them to run 3.

the original operating schedule had three cars running at all times except sundays. the sunday schedule was later modified to run a third car from 9a-6p due to higher-than-expected demand.

and tonight as of an hour ago. Now back to 2.....doesn't feel like holiday a hours type of thing. If it's not holiday schedule type of thing, we all understand growing pains, just call it what it is.

Memorial officials have noted a significant uptick in pedestrians approaching the museum from the north and using the north lawn, attributed in part to the streetcar that stops at Union Station. Several benches will be added to the walkways in the north lawn

Since they're talking about an extension to the Riverfront, has there been any thought to establishing a feasibility study for extending the streetcar over to the West Bottoms? That also seems like a no-brainer, and there is already development going on in that area.

It was studied prior to the last vote. Don't remember why it was rejected, maybe not enough tax base?

Nextrail studies
They scored on a 100 point scale
Main to UMKC: 81

31st/Linwood to Prospect direct via Gillham: 78
31st/Linwood nearly to Van Brunt direct via Gillham: 75
31st/Linwood nearly to Van Brunt direct from Main : 75
31st/Linwood to Prospect direct from Main: 71

Indep Ave to Chestnut: 63
Indep Ave to Van Bruntish: 63
12th Prospect to state line: 59
12th to Prospect: 55
12th to state line: 48
18th to Prospect: 47
Combined 18th from Prospect to /SW Blvd at state line: 47
Trolley Track Trail corridor: 47
SW Blvd to state line: 43

So you can see the 2014 plan was the top scoring route relative to cost for each choice. The lowest Linwood choice was the cheapest by far and was still a top choice. 12th St west to the bottoms was in the bottom half.

Here's the study result doc. Page 16-17 is the relevant pages
https://issuu.com/bnim/docs/nextrail_kc ... ew_web/202

The 12th St west corridor lost for:
development capacity and TOD potential
ridership potential
operational efficiency
low chance for federal funding
community support
other priorities should come first
existing population density along it
number of jobs
