I've got a couple questions about this property for the people who live there. The selling agents I'm in contact with haven't been very responsive lately.

What companies run the utilities?

What are the internet options?  Is is just standard Time Warner cable internet? I thought I read somewhere that there was wireless hooked up to a T3 connection.

Also, is there a person who is the building manager? What's their phone #?

Water and trash are included in the homeowners dues.  KCP&L is electric and I don't remember who does the gas (hot water heater and fireplace are the only gas appliances).  Time Warner has a monopoly on the building but I don't know about the T3 connection.  I just use the standard Roadrunner service.

We do have a property manager, Amy Dolan and if you want to PM me, I'll send you her phone number.  I think it is her personal cell so she probably doesn't want it posted on the forum.

By the way, it looks like they are getting close on the pool.  They are putting the WST emblem on the wading pool as we speak.

Putting green is in place and the pool is scheduled to open on Memorial day.

I went up there last weekend to check it all out and was wondering about the two "dead" areas.  There's one on the south side, just east of the lap pool/deck and another one on the east side by the putting green.  Both of these areas are inaccessible with all the railings and walkways and I was wondering what purpose they served.  Seems weird to have not used these areas.  Anyone know the scoop?

Financier of condo project plans trustee’s sale of 18 units

A financier of the WallStreet Tower luxury condominiums downtown plans to sell the project’s unsold units after the developer defaulted on its debt.
McDowell Investments LP of Lenexa, the junior lender on the project, has scheduled a trustee’s sale for June 5 on the steps of the Jackson County Courthouse. Eighteen of the project’s units are slated to be sold.

An interesting sidenote from the article. Jason Townsend appears to be considering a plan to turn part of the old Federal Reserve Bank property into a hotel.
With most of the units at WallStreet Tower sold, Townsend now plans to convert the historic 21-story Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City at 10th Street and Grand Boulevard, which he purchased in 2005, into residential condominiums.

Tentative plans call for the building to be renovated into 135 condos, but Townsend also is considering proposals that call for part of it to be redeveloped as a hotel.

Another nugget from the article:

He has even grander plans for a project in Omaha, Neb.

Townsend wants to build a 32-story combination hotel and condo building in the heart of that city’s downtown and has obtained tax incentives for the $126 million project.

He also recently acquired the historic Brandeis building in downtown Omaha, which once housed a department store of the same name, and has plans to redevelop that property as a mixed-use development.

Man, Omaha is still pretty serious about downtown revitalization.  I guess they didn't get the cease and desist development memo from the "economy".

Everybody has plans.  But not all plans actually come to life.

Not all cities have plans.  Thanks a lot, Economy.

Does anyone know anything about the upcoming auction? I think there will be 17? units auctioned off on Tuesday? Are the interiors finished? Is this still going to take place? Thanks in advance.

I heard the "dead" areas are there b/c the city wanted to keep people as far from the railing overlooking Grand as possible. The furniture and grills are installed now.

Sorry about the picture quality. I took my digital camera over to the pool with me only to realize that I forgot the memory card. Instead, I offer you cell phone pictures ->

Nice place to suntan and catch a view.  Is this for WST residents only?

Yes, and their guests.

What happened to the hot tubs?  Anyone know if we're still getting them?

I need to get to know some people that live there so I can be their "guest".  :P
