Friday night, June 12th, Come watch your last place, crappy Kansas City royals lose again to the Cleveland Indians, then, after the game,  head over to the K amphitheater, and listen to Huey Lewis and the News.  Stick around and buy another 7 dollar beer and help David Glass upgrade his private jet.

So, the big draw to this ampitheater will be that it is covered, so no concerts will be cancelled right? What happens if Question 2 fails??????

An amphitheatre? If that's what they're talking about, are they going to state what money will be spent on it? Are they going to change the ballot language to specifically include it? What about all the people that have already voted absentee? Will they get a chance to read the new ballot language and possibly change their vote?

If this press conference is talking about tacking any new things on to the ballot, they are lighting a pile of crap. To tack extra bells and whistles on is not only sneaky, it's dishonest. That is, if they don't change the ballot language and let absentees vote again(and pay for them to vote again). Otherwise, they could promise us all free coffee delivery in the morning and roller coasters to work, but they wouldn't be bound to it.

I smell shit.

They do that now with ALABAMA or the Oak Ridge Boys about 5 times a year.

That pretty much sums up how these ballots work.  Remember that elevated train at the airport we were supposed to get for our tax dollars when we passed the airport initiative - you know the one that would circulate between the terminals and satellite lots?  Anyone seen that train lately?

9/11 had nothing to do with it.  It wasn't properly budgeted for, so when "construction cost rises" took place after the ballot initiative passed, the powers that be decided something had to go in order to get it back to budget.  Thus the promissed train disappeared.  When construction costs rise at TSC or $200 mil doesn't turn out to be enough to pay for the rolling roof, don't expect them to go back to the voters and ask us which of these improvements get axed.

Now KK is speculating that it is the official threat from the Royals to move if this goes down in flames.

I think it's pretty clear that 9/11 and George Bush are exclusively responsible for the Royals sucking.

anybody know what year this thing would be, or is it just a vague promise?

also, what exactly does this change?  it's my opinion at least that an all star game was going to come back eventually, be it with a slightly renovated K or a new park alltogether.
