seattles stadium cost 517.6m, and their owners only put in 75m. so, because they put in 14%, it is better then kc where mr. glass is putting in 11%. or baltimore, where the orioles put in 0%. or chicago, where the white sox put in 0%, or oakland, where the owners put in 0%, or how about the best one out there. the rogers centre in toronto. built 16 years ago for 600m ( canadian, so, about 400m american ) and just last year, the blue jays bought the sky dome, renamed it rogers centre, from the province of ontario, for 25m ( canadian, so, about 19m american )shaffe wrote: and who says that every penny of a new stadium will come from the taxpayers. the reason this question should be voted down more than the possibility of a downtown park is the 10% controbution by the teams. one of the worst deals in sports history if this question passes.
the blue jays got a stadium built for them, for, about 375-400m, and bought it from them 16 years later for 19m. and we are getting one of the worst deals in the history of sports. yeah. sure.
you can look and find other teams that put in a high percantage, 50% in some cases, and st. louis, san fran, and la, all did 100%, so, there are better deals no doubt, but this drama that kevin kietzman has put in everyone elses mind, that this is the worst deal ever, yeah, sure it is.
