Re: Sirens too loud????
Actually there have been lawsuits and lost jobs over this very issue.mean wrote: I still don't see the compelling need. Of course one can't assume that traffic isn't coming down a cross street, etc; one looks to see if there is traffic. Switch the cherries on, even, to let any coming traffic know you aren't going to yield to them...but sirens? I can't even hear them when my windows are up and I'm driving around, until they're practically on top of me. The lights are much more effective.
Anyway, making up false scenarios about pending accidents and lost jobs, and suggesting that people who don't think the same way you do shouldn't breed isn't very productive.

Acutally Midtown and the East Side make up a VERY VERY large percentage of structure fires in Kansas City.Paintfumes wrote: They shouldn't turn on their siren until they're out of the city. How many fires are inside the city, probably not any ? Write to the Mayor since she's in charge. Muh- hahahahahaha.
You obviously have no clue what you are talking about, and should think twice next time you speak. Or at least do some research so you don't look so uninformed in the future.

Today around 2:00 PM at 52th and Brighton.......and that was the third house fire IN THE CITY today.Paintfumes wrote:
Hey Lack and Lobe , when was the last fire ?  Muh-hahahaha
My old Rescue Company on the eastside responded to around 300 Structure Fires last year alone. Thats just one company....there are 34 Fire Stations in Kansas City, Mo. alone....and many of them have more than one company.
Not every house or structure fire in the city gets on the news or the news paper. Not many do believe it or not. If I had to guess 90% of them don't get attention.

Wow.....you my friend are about as sharp as a bowling ball. Now its "Inside the Loop" Huh????? You didn't say that. You said "inside the city" and last time I checked the West Bottoms or 52th and Brighton is "inside the city"Paintfumes wrote: I said inside the loop . Not the west bottoms or 52 blocks away from the city.............Helloooooooooooooo.
The last fire inside the loop was yesterday 9:28 AM at 417 E. 13th by the way.

Paintfumes wrote: I saw the firetruck then the truck turn off the sirens. So maybe there wasn't a fire IN the city.
When you say IN the city.....do you mean downtown? Cause the "City" is about 320 sq. miles....
You profile says you live in Midtown.....does that mean you live 30-50 blocks away from the city?????
