Am rooting for this project to happen but am becoming a bit skeptical until it actually breaks ground. A potential catalyst project beyond the Troost momentum for E Side.

The project's first phase is expected to break ground later this year, after UrbanAmerica exercises the first of several land purchase options outlined in a development agreement the city approved in July.

Block Co. will be broker. Ground will likely break before 2022 concludes.

Got City Council approval. Can’t wait to see shovels in the ground and another major investment on the southside of the city rise.

Skepticism apparently warranted as they don't have a very good track record of announcements relative to breaking ground. Any status on this? Once interest rates improve hopefully it moves forward. Needs to happen some day.

Do they have any permits yet?

City is putting the pressure on the developer and/or trying to get out of contract.
Repealing Ordinance No. 231011 and directing the City Manager, in the event of the developer's failure to perform its contractual obligations, to terminate the 63rd and Prospect development contract and issue a request for proposals for the 63rd and Prospect development area.
WHEREAS, concerns exist about whether all parties will be able to perform all obligations under the agreement; and

So is the east elevation fronting Prospect? Walk up style units would be amazing, tho could be a concern for some being in a higher crime neighborhood of the city. More eyes on the streets will be very welcome. All in all it's amazing that this is happening and hopefully all phases get completed, this part of the city needs it! It's an important Southside intersection that ties together two very important hoods and could help boost ped improvements on the 71 thru the Southside.

Hard to believe this is finally happening. I mean, it's not an architectural masterpiece but it's better than a brownfield site.

My grandparents were at 62nd and Wabash when the city leveled this neighborhood ~20 years ago. Nice to see something finally happening here.
