14!!!!!

I did see a nice rendering of the stadium across the street and to the east of T-Mobile Center. That would make for 4 total sites I'm aware of, 14 is insane.

You had to submit your questions in advance which is why I stopped filling out the RSVP.

Why? Walkability is the foundation of good urbanism, and being able to connect the stadium to the rest of downtown is cut off by a government district. I wanna know how that's going to be addressed. I just don't understand how that's a bad question. It's a very glaring flaw, from the urbanist perspective.

Because they haven't picked a site and have made it clear there isn't an official selection.

Populous estimates 70% of Kauffman will need to be replaced over the next 50 years or so

Jfc for all the talk about Populous "not gonna miss the chance to do something great in their hometown" design something even more basic than my lowest expectations.

The rendering in the clip that's labeled "Berkley" is actually the renderings we've all seen publicly. And TLG was correct on location, intersection of 11th and Cherry St in East Village.

Sorry, just noticed the "berkley" labeling is on the map below the drawing.

I don't think it is saying a riverfront stadium. That section of the video says: "Proposed Berkley Trail. Ballpark to Riverfront" above a map of a trail leading to the riverfront. It is just saying there is a under consideration a trail from the stadium, wherever that is, to the riverfront.

Ahhh, got you now.

Knowing how expensive renderings are, the fact the public renderings are indeed East Village makes it hard to deny it's not still the #1 option. Or was at some point.

Notice the restaurants on the stadium exterior. Looks like a plaza eating area that can used year round.

Some highlights from my notes

- This will be the first of many community engagements and the Royals will be starting a community based advisory board

- Royals are looking into a CBA development inside the district. Affordable and attainable housing is part of the plan

- Sherman is also personally looking at affordable housing solutions outside of district

- In the 1st year post construction, HR&A expects $185m in added regional economic output as a direct effect of the stadium

- Sherman said a BiState tax was too complicated to pursue

- Indicated that the full ballpark district would be privately funded

- Aug 23 would be earliest it would be put to a vote

Pretty impressive. It really looks like Sherman is trying to do something pretty amazing. Good to see they are looking at 34k seat stadium in the 1 billion dollar range which should not be a "cheap" minor league sized stadium.

14 locations though. Wow. I would bet 12 of them would be nearly impossible to build on requiring too much demo etc. I do wonder if this means that they are looking much further from the loop at some of the locations. Maybe Crown Center area etc.

10k additional parking spaces is a LOT. That's like half of the size of the TSC which I think is only about 20k. Why would they need to build that much additional parking? I can see a large 2000 space garage etc. But 10-11k? The stadium would only need like 5-7 thousand parking spaces total for an average crowd.

Maybe the garages for those new spaces will go under those buildings in the background

This shows more than the previous release of this image. Assuming this is East Village, the east loop is gone, interestingly. I'm not holding my breath for removal, but maybe a tunnel is in the works?

I noticed in the video on the drawings page that indicates 11th and Cherry that the building on the corner was labeled ‘esports’ and an underground sports book was also indicated.
