This is real confusing comming up the ramp into Central. I used to go south on central to go to Crown Center. When I started taking pictures downtown I was totaly lost not being able to go south on this road. It will be nice to get this street back open so I can get over to my favorite parking spot in front of Hilti.
No trees were destroyed in the sending of this contaminant- free message.

There's really no where to go since they're working on 16th street...

I was up there yesterday as well.  The view is impressive - and the grade change from the power and light district to this site is impressive.  Even more impressive is that the PAC will be at a higher grade elevation than this.

It will be very impressive.

No way.  Lincoln Center could afford a fountain.

Good observation!

Mid-century architechture (lincoln center) sucks. I see some similarities, but the new addition to Bartle hall is way more contemporary, and I like that.

Has the Bartle Hall been renovated recently? I understand that it is really old. I'm just curious

Good use of land, building over an interstate highway. Interesting.  :)

Mid century architecture "sucks? "  Exactly what does that mean?  Mid-century was once contemporary.  Present contemporary will soon be"really old."  Actually looks more like Kennedy Center in DC to me.

It means I don't like the look. I know that it was the contemporary look from the 50's, and 60's, and it's not timeless. I just never liked the look.

What specifically do you not like about the look of mid-century? Just curious.  Stay out of the furniture showrooms if you do not like mid-century furniture also--it has come roaring back, colors and legs and all!

I think it's the white beams. look at the great western forum, and dodger stadium, and several other buildings built in that time frame. Yea I noticed already that the furniture has made a come back, but it dosen't bother me the way that the architechture does on the buildings. Matter of fact I use to own a sofa, and love seat that were from that era, and I loved them.

Think I get where you are coming from.  Is it those spindley columns they use as an attempt to be classical yet modern?  See also the Dorothy Chandler Pavillion in LA?  Yet some of that rose above mere kitschiness to become inconic, such as the Seattle Space Needle and the Gateway Arch in St. Louis.  A good contrast of good mid-century versus tacky mid-century in KC  is right across from each other at tenth and Main.  Commerce Tower good design, Ten Main, not good.

Are we sure that the columns are completely finished?  Still looks like active construction to me.
Are you sure we're talking about the same God here, because yours sounds kind of like a dick.
