no picture, but 801 does look great.  It appears to be similar in concept and design to Sullivan's out at 119th.  I still think Maker's Mark should have been wedged into the restaurant row rather than a key anchor of the Live block  :?

Probably just did it that way because its worked at 4th Street Live.

Just wanted to let everyone know that Peachtree is now open.  Went there this afternoon with the wife for lunch.  Nice interior, looks like it'll provide some great views at night.  Food was great as always and service was better than the Lees Summit location.  Around noon there were probably 5 tables in use and a group that came in for lunch as we were leaving.  It would be helpful if they placed a sign on the door on the lower level stating that Peachtree is now open, come on upstairs or something like that.  I'm fairly sure that Lucky Strike had/has a sign like that facing the Sprint Center.

Very cool.  I had no idea they had a location in LS, where is that (I'll google it, don’t' worry).

Looks like we are starting to get a critical mass of mid to high end restaurants downtown now.  I hope they start feeding off one another.  The AMC theater will help too.

Awesome. This is probably the restaurant I've most anticipated in P&L.

It's in the NE corner of the Summit Woods shopping center (the one with Best Buy, Target, Lowe's, etc.).

24 hr dining concept coming to this block under the Peach Tree...

Fran's-- a retro-chic chain out of Toronto.

Very nice pick IMHO...adds a strong breakfast + late night element to the corner.

Wow, totally agree.  Probably will be printing money with that concept at that location even with a dead Tuesday night.

Definitely going to give the place a couple tries when it opens later this summer.  Wish it and the new Kobe place would open sooner.  With the theater opening up, that's perfect place for that concept too.  Also, just think of all the 3AM patrons leaving all the bars and staring at a place that serves big pancakes and is open.  Ohhhhhh.  :P

Very good to hear, I see this place doing well if executed properly.

Not sure why Joyce Smith called it "upscale"...doesn't really look like it.  I mean, not Denny's or Nichol's perhaps, but...

The 24 hr aspect should certainly fill a need and it sounds like it ought to help meet some of the perceived need for more family friendly dining.

I could do without another faux-Kobe beef joint though.

I just wet myself!  I've been to Fran's and this is more exciting to me than landing an NHL franchise.  (OK, ok, no high-sticking!)  Perfect addition to the district.  Fills a huge niche.

Upscale?  Kinda.  The place has a nice veneer to it.  Homey retro-chic, but nothing pretentious at all.  Well groomed, I guess.  The food I've sampled is pretty serviceable "midwestern" fare at reasonable prices. Hope we get an atmosphere that replicates the buzz of Fran's Yonge St. original.

Good for you, P & L.  Good for you.
