The River Mark buildings are now the Manhattan and Metropolitan condos on 8th between Cherry and Charlotte. The View is on Admiral at Cherry and started as Vista Del Rio (teacher apartments?)

Onelife KC is offering a pre-enrollment special of $29.99 per month if your enroll with enrollment fee prior to May 31. They open in late August/early September and should have the following amenities:

Parking in Cosentinos garage
Full cardio floor
Many classes throughout the day
Several speciality studios for spinning, yoga, turf room, etc.
Full locker rooms with saunas
Member access to the Jones Pool (once it reopens next year)
Personal Trainer access (unsure of costs)
Month to month, no contracts.
24 Hour access!!!

After the promotion ends standard rates will probably closer to $60 and corporate rates a bit below that. If you or anyone you know are looking for a 24 hour access and modern facility, please check them out. They have a demo office over by the Mixx. Ask for Lexie and tell her Tim sent you.

That's a pretty sharp video with lots of detail. Gives some insight on where the lack of structures occur in the immediate vicinity

It is inconceivable how hated this city is by 99% of it's corporations.
Is there another city in the country that has such a high profile corner, right next to their entertainment district and arena that has sat empty for a decade?
Probably, but I can't think of any.

A tall, signature residential tower - 40 stories minimum. :-)

That space is large enought to support a dual commercial/residential tower along with parking, ground level retail and and Urban Target.

you could always compare that to how the ENTIRE SOUTH LOOP festered for decades waiting for the shoe to drop. nothing like a local example!

Downtown traffic has been made a disaster by this project already. They've closed streets so three major garages dump onto one street and then took it to one lane. I know complaining about traffic in DT KC is kind of a joke, but it's costing me 30 minutes/day extra with my family and feeds the stereotype of all the suburbanites that DT is a pain in the ass. Does the city have a traffic control department yet?

I think it's extra messy while they build the crane then the Cosentinos garage will free up a bit. I'm kind of amazed how free traffic still moves around the area.

Yeah, I've heard quite a few people bitching about this already... but i think the easy solution is to simply NOT USE Main or Walnut in the loop for the next year. I've already changed the way I get to Cosentinos and its not been to much of an issue for me.

^^But, that's the problem. All the garages are dumping onto Walnut and getting stuck at the light on 14th St. Why not spend $100/day for a couple of traffic control officers to push traffic through for an hour? Instead, you have 1000s of corporate burnout suburbanites seething in their cars saying, "I need to get a job closer to Olathe." or "The city sucks! Why would anyone live down here?" The city is coming back. Why sour the pot? Be aware of the simple things like this that can change the view of the city or keep someone from changing their mind for the better.

Seems like a good suggestion for the mayor and/or city manager to hear. Twitter is a good vehicle.

I hear ya. Seems like something the city should be able to take care of.

As a side note, this morning I was driving across walnut and saw a construction worker/traffic control guy...he was incredibly nice and apologetic about closing Walnut. Said it should be open by Monday.

I've been avoiding Main for the last few weeks and have been exiting on Baltimore (1KCP garage). Main and Walnut are a mess right now, plus they are tearing up the entrance to 1KCP to re-pave.
