What does Glass expect to be asked when he shows up in KC once every decade? If he didn't want to answer those questions, why sit down?

It doesn't even sound like a high pressure interview. I wonder how many more he'll walk out of this week.

Here's how I'm betting the coverage breaks down: coastal writers will give us great press, rave about how nice everyone is and how great the bbq is. Basically the "this place isn't the backwater I assumed it is, and you might want to spend a weekend here sometime" article.

The midwestern writers will nitpick the heck out of everything. The "hey they have the ASG but it's still the cowtown you think it is" articles.

The national press will simply marvel at the suffering of Royals fans and note that hope might finally be around the corner, blah, blah, blah. ESPN has already run two of these.

Just another pathetic chapter in the Glass era, but, I wouldn't expect anything less. This is what this self-entitled freeloader does and he's proven that time and again. He cried poor to the MLB and got his luxury tax to line his pockets. He bent Jackson County over and we gave this loser a $300 million renovation and an All Star Game. Glass is always the first one in line to take the handouts but he's too chicken shit to face the music on the failings of this miserable franchise.

Good news is he'll be on his private jet back to Bentonville in a couple days and we won't have to see him again for another 5 years.

Here's the audio of the Glass interview:

And JoPo finally posted the love letter to KC that everyone knew he would (and managed to keep it under 3,500 words):

Because without an airport where the parking is easy, and the walk is easy, and unlike any other major airport there are a dozen or more entry points so the security lines are almost always short, who are we?!?.

First - Glass is a massive pussy. Walking out on that interview is totally bush.

We went to Fan Fest today. It was pretty cool, but I had a couple free passes. I think if I would've had to shell out 60 bucks it would be another story.

That's how I feel too. Had a free ticket so I enjoyed it, but if I paid $30 for it, I would've come away disappointed. For $30, you'd think there would be more freebies in a big gift bag or something that they would hand out. The lines for the autographs were also really long, and we couldn't even get in the line to see Bo Jackson. I guess that line filled up 2 hours before he was set to sign anything. They also make you buy a $20 photo if you want an autograph....no bringing in your own baseball cards to get signed.

Seems like kids would enjoy it more with all the kid friendly interactive stuff though.

Yeah - no kids here, either. And I thought the same thing...they would probably enjoy it.

We didn't mess w/anything that had a line to wait for it. And even with avoiding that, we were there 3.5 hours.

Think I heard 8,000 people.

On the twitter, I'm reading a lot of nice things about KC from national types. Helps this is a really big deal to us, so we go the extra mile.

Great piece by Posnanski, but do you think this will be the last big time sporting event we host for a long time? ROLLING ROOF NOW!

Is it worth starting a thread for ASG/KC articles?

Not completely sure I like this idea. It just seems a tad odd and perhaps in poor taste to have this on our nation's only WWI memorial. I'm not completely opposed to the idea, it just seems a little weird to me:

Compared to Rock Fest, that's nothing.

It's less distasteful than putting blue dye in the fountains.

Crowd of 40,000 for the Futures Game/Celeb Softball game, easily the most ever.
