They demolished the connections between parking garages in that back alleyway. That was a necessary step before the west-facing garage can be demoed. Supposedly, the office project is waiting for BAP be redeveloped.

If that’s true, it must’ve been a very recent decision, as the building has gone out to bid

After being open for a while, the first reviews of Hotel Kansas City are coming in. 4.6/5 rating on Google and 7.5/10 on Hotels.com. The only reasons why the reviews are not a perfect 10/10 are...
1. Some people don't like the fact that parking is about $30 a night.
2. Some features aren't open yet because of the coronavirus.

Other than those issues though, people rate it highly so far. It will be interesting to see how the reviews change over time but I'd say at this point, this is well on it's way to becoming a preferred hotel to stay at.

Hotel KC is running $125-150 per night through January. Would be a great time to check out the new hotel.

Not if you can't get room service. We stayed in several local hotels awhile back and none of them would deliver hot food to our room (you basically had to go to the restaurant and order takeout). I know, I know... but to me it makes a big difference if you're paying to stay locally.

room service was going away at many hotels pre-pandemic so I can't imagine now it's easy to find.

They're doing a NYE deal with dinner and a room -- a trend that I hope other KC hotels with restaurants pick up on (Crossroads Hotel started it, and has since sold out).

Can't wait until it's safer to go hang out at this place. Looks well done.

I believe Quixotic being involved is the big seller for the Crossroads Hotel selling out.

Quixotic was not involved in our dinner and room the other night. Are you referring to the hotel's opening event?

Thanks, looks like there was mention of a pause. But can’t tell if that is speculation or a reporting of known fact. Helpful, but still curious if we have an official release that states anything one way or another

Seems there are 2 conversations here: one about the office project, and the other about the hotel. Easy to happen since both are lumped under one topic.

They cancelled their grading permit. Publicly claimed they had financing lined up but it never advanced it appears.
