Menlo Inc. is taking over the former DERMAdoctor space at 1901 McGee St. and plans to move in during the first quarter. Its current headquarters is at 5904 NW 63rd Terrace in Kansas City.

Wonder if they'll re-purpose that huge sign on the corner of the building.

1827 McGee sure looks better after remodeling.

There's so many buildings where the windows make the design.

Get rid of the 1970s security glass brick and it's transformed.

That entire block has been transformed, and not by outsiders: Matt Abbott, Vince Bryant, and Ehinger.

It's one of the nicest blocks in the Crossroads. I would love to see every storefront on both sides of that block be lined with independent restaurants with outdoor seating. Close the block after 5 pm in the summer, and put out tables in the street like they do in Europe.

KC should make more blocks pedestrian. I still think the plaza should be first.

What's going on to the building at 1620(ish) Grand? Sidewalk is completely closed and excavated down to the basement foundation of the building. I'm betting they're the next project to not follow the sidewalk closing policy...

Smart to remove the vaults. They're the scourge of construction!

I'll keep an eye out for a temporary sidewalk detour as we approach 14 days closed. Especially important on the drag strip that is Grand.

Sweatheory Brings LA Healing Style to Crossroads
...
Brandon Presley is the owner of what will be the first Sweatheory to open outside the original in LA about six years ago. The grand opening is scheduled for June 21.

He’s renovated a 112 year-old building at 170 E. 19th St., last used as shoe warehouse, creating an infrared, cedar-lined hot yoga studio for up to 20, five private sauna/shower spaces and the shot bar.
...
The new place is next door to Afterword Tavern and around the corner from EAST + WEST, part of the revival of the corner of 19th and Grand. Presley decided to open there after looking at the Plaza and Leawood.

Plaza Liquor requesting a package license for 1801 McGee, suite 101. Used to Ochsner Hare & Hare, which moved to Centric's old space on Main.

Isn't there a church across the street? Thought that was a blue law no no.

Edit that was the church address. Nevermind. Not really an exciting retailer to a promising block.

If it's going to be a liquor store, may as well be a good, local one. I don't usually make it to their location, but I think them, Gomers and Mike's are all solid KCMO liquor stores.

Exciting! We could use a decent liquor store. Cosentino's is good but a little limited and a smidgen expensive compared to other shops. Plaza has a great selection and great staff.

Yeah overall a stand alone liquor store is great news. Odd location.
