First off, I never said I had a problem with the name "Indians". The only name that I can think of that I find offensive is "Redskins", which is the Native American equivalent of "N-Word". I assume you are joking about the Pirates.

Yes the Chiefs old logos were offensive, and it is a testament to Lamar Hunt that he was able to abandon those old relics at the request of reasonable Native American groups. I don't find the Braves, Chiefs, Blackhawks, Illini, or even the Redskins logos offensive. But Chief Wahoo is, and always has been a joke at the expense of Native Americans. And we don't exactly have a strong track record of treating Native Americans well.

Holy crap Davies blows.  Seriously.

Davies was one of those pitchers who was moved along in the Minor Leagues to fast so he didn't gain all of the experience he needed before moving up to play with the big boys. I would like to see him work very hard in the offseason and if he doesn't improve A LOT then I would put him in Triple A, where he can gain more knowledge of the game and so he could then come in and be an effective starter.

Sounds good.

Whatever needs to happen to keep him from giving up 5 runs in the first inning each time he pitches I'm all for it.

Nor do they have a very good track record of treating US well.  I'll assume you've heard about the practice of scalping, and are aware of the murders & atrocities they also committed.


And by the way, I'm a Native American.  Anyone born in America, is, by definition.

There was a minor league baseball team in Atlanta prior to the Braves moving there from Milwaukee called the Crackers.

I realize the Negro League teams often added "Black" to whatever the name of the white team was, but Black Crackers?

Of course, those atrocities and murders went both ways.  And some whites were also scalping their victims.

Anyway, that is all in the past.  We shouldn't forget it but hopefully it would not be repeated.  Besides, humanity has progressed and has developed new ways to commit murder and atrocities that might put past practices to shame.
