Not that every terminal has the same construction timeline but MSY new terminal got the first jetways installed in July 2018 with first flight November 2019. It was expected to open in spring 2019 though. So say that's 9 months, our first jetway was installed in April. That puts it at January 2023.

Yeah all those events will be before public flights are happening.mykem wrote: ↑Tue Aug 16, 2022 5:56 pm"Planning for new KCI terminal grand opening underway" https://fox4kc.com/news/planning-for-ne ... erway/amp/AlkaliAxel wrote: ↑Tue Aug 16, 2022 3:30 pmThis is the first I've heard of any mention of a possible January 2023 opening

I feel like the airlines would be reluctant to fuck with holiday travel as well.
Throw a few parties. Let everyone see it.
Open after the winter holiday and before the spring ones. February sounds good to me.

We are farther along now then when NoLa knew it wasn’t going to happen. Lots of indications were present there so we should be okKCPowercat wrote: ↑Tue Aug 16, 2022 5:59 pm Not that every terminal has the same construction timeline but MSY new terminal got the first jetways installed in July 2018 with first flight November 2019. Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
Sounds like a lot of avoidable issues, mostly due to mismanagement. I'm "pro" new airport, but none of those issues are reasons for a new airport.
mykem wrote: ↑Mon Aug 15, 2022 8:10 pm So, I flew out of KCI back on June 15th. Some of the issues that were glaring:
The roof was leaking in terminal B at gate area 34.
Stores were closed this was at 5p.
Not enough security staff so our wait in a 30 people deep line was about 30 minutes to get through security.
Also someone went out the wrong door setting off this loud alarm that lasted 10 minutes because again security staffing issues.
Trash was heaping out of the trash cans and onto the floor around it.
The Mexican restaurant closed because of staffing issues so we were forced to pay nearly $60 for three cold sandwiches, 3 bottles of water, and 2 bags of chips.
The southwest flight from Denver was redirected to Wichita because of the storm at KCI. The plane was supposed to be used for another flight which they had to cancel. So, the southwest agent got over the intercom and told everyone that he was the only one there and that they need to either go home and rebook online, or go back to the counter outside of security to rebook a different flight for later that night if there was room on any other flights.
Point is, if staffing is still an issue when the new Terminal opens, its not going to matter whats in it. It will still be a bad experience.

I’d hope so. I haven’t seen any mention from Meyer or any other figure, but I’d wager it does, it’s so clunky and dated nowChris Stritzel wrote: ↑Tue Aug 16, 2022 11:23 pmSo does this mean their website will be overhauled too?

Isn't it a plane landing? Looks like a plane banking on it's approach to land. The starboard wing is not showing. I wondered about it myself and that's what I concluded. It could be better.

It's stylized of the new roof. I think it's great.

Yawn. Looks like a stock photo. Doesn't matter. Most people don't choose a destination based on the logo of the airport. Still.

This… This is a joke right? Because I don’t think that was the point… merely an update to a rather dated logo, if you can see above.

It has pretty colors and is simple. Who really cares about an airport logo unless it looks bad.
This doesn't, I like it.

Maybe, they should add a massive block on the left side to represent the parking garage.
