I have the full set of 1969 blueprints for this Oberlechner monolith, if anyone wants them. LOL. Offered to current management, who declined.FangKC wrote: ↑Fri May 05, 2023 11:08 pmCrowne Plaza Hotel has been:
Holiday Inn City Center (opened in 1970)
Quality Inn Americana Hotel
Americana Hotel
Omni Hotel
Doubletree Hotel
Radisson Hotel
Crowne Plaza
By 1991 (21 years after it opened), the hotel had deteriorated greatly, and proposals were put forth to renovate it into a convention hotel. This included a plan to add an additional 500 rooms and a 380-space garage. I'm assuming this addition would have been to the south of the present building.
If you find those drawings I would love to have them! I actually quite like this building.herrfrank wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2023 1:56 amI have the full set of 1969 blueprints for this Oberlechner monolith, if anyone wants them. LOL. [Actually, I think we trashed them in the last Deffenbaugh recycling pick-up.]
