Agreed 100%. They know what'll work. I'll trust that they do. However, when you say "I guarantee youll get a tenant", I want to take him at his word. Maybe it won't come true, but if he KNOWS it's not likely, he should be honest.

Yes, he guaranteed it. The arena doesn't even have a fucking architect yet (pardon my language). Could you please get off of Leiweke's nuts and let the man do his job.

No, Fritz's knowledge is not just based on Lacross. He is a team onwer in Lacross so he does have lot of experience in the financing of teams, negotiations with players, and so on. He knows sports, entertainment, and arena business probably more than anyone else living in the KC area. He will also admit that he is not always right (you should see him when one of his concerts loses money big time) but he is a survivor. So don't bad mouth Chris just because he is quoted in Hearne's column.
I may be right.  I may be wrong.  But there is a lot of gray area in-between.

yeah tk, learn something from the guy who names himself "aknowledgableperson"

pa......I'm not arguing that in further...it's a suburb...it's nothing without the city. we're all in this thing together though. My household income and yours....there are 1.5M people that don't live in JOCO in this metro..they contribute as well.

I do my part. Royals season tix, opera season tix, on the plaza all the time. That's all I'll say.

Cordish will be all over the JOCO money. If there are gangsta rappers hanging out at KC Live, like there are at Westport and WERE at the Plaza Theatres, I'm not going back.

With all of this talk about suburbs it may not be long before KCMO is a suburb of Johnson County. JoCo has almost the same population of KC and its average income is certainly greater.

"do your part"....ok whatever. this debate is silly. We all "do our part" I guess...it doesn't matter your area of the city. Why is JoCo always fishing for compliments for all they do? I'm not a huge JoCo hater...I lived there, it wasn't for me but I mean come on give it up.....no one piece is God's gift to this area.

akp...now I know you're not who you say you are.

I don't care if you compliment me, ever.

Secondly, I'm not a big "KC-guy" as it is. I only care b/c I'm from here. It's like rooting for your alma mater: you ahve to do it.

Doesn't mean MU fans are proud of their hoops coach now, tho.

I take back my anti-JoCo comment. Although that was my initial reaction, it doesn't get us anywhere just dissing and blasting areas of KC. But it is strikingly evident that JoCo, East Jack, and other 'burbs cannot even begin to match the destinations of KCMO.

By suburb I mean that JoCo will have a greater popualtion than KC with greater personal income. And maybe more jobs (just look at 435 going westbound into KS in the morning). Anyway, it was just an idle statement to see what kind of response there would be.

I've been on record here for not blasting any certain area of the city...we're all in this fight together...but on the other hand I'm not going to let a suburb or urban core for that matter, think they are any better because of some certain statistic.

PA...sorry you don't like KC....guess we're doing better than your moniker though....actually gaining people and jobs (and sunshine :) ). I've never understood the lack of civic pride in KC....it's probably our 2nd biggest downfall (only behind a stupid state line in the middle of our city)

kind of tough comparing an entire county to one city. I bet you could pull up the top 35 metros and get the same results....one county in the burbs higher equal population and higher median income than the city it surrounds....

the good news is cities are coming back...people are flocking to the core and buying up places at a record mark....people are tired of the same old burbs.

1. If i didn't like it, why am i posting here?
2. I like certain aspects of KC. I just think it is HORRIBLY mismanaged.
3. I've pointed out several great thigns this city has: great schools, great sunshine/weather (which is NEVER accentuated by morons at CVB), Plaza is unreal, etc.
4. But I"m a realist. I'm paid to do that at my corporate job. the state line doesn't do half as much damage as the idiots who puked all over Union Station.

Jo Co = mini-Orange County on the prairie. You're not unique...at all.

1) this comment from above made me say that "I'm not a big "KC-guy" as it is"

4) Blame the bi-state commission...which includes people from both sides of the state line. I actually don't believe Union Station is horrible. The tax paid did it's job....save a historic structure...sure it needs to be programmed correctly but we came together and saved a true jewel for the metro....it's KC residents who feel the need to hate on everything.

i'm not right now - but could be. the arena is a good start. let's keep it all going.

u.s. really has no purpose now. what are the options? aren't casinos illegal unless on riverbeds?

You are continuing to distribute lies when it comes to Union Station. For the last time, the city of KCMO DID NOT screw up Union Station. There was a director, Turner White, who was fired as well as board members from across the metro including the mayor of OP, someone from Olathe, Brisbane who publishes the Star, and Mary Bloch among others.

It was a Bistate coaltion (including people from good 'ole Jo Co) that f---ed up Union Station in addition to Turner White.

Uh, excuse me: quote where I said that KCMO did it.

Steve Rose was a big supporter of it, and he admits he was wrong in the Sun.

If you can't produce my quote, produce an apology or retraction, TK
