I think I'm most surprised that Ward 24 passed it. That area of KC always seems to feel (and be) overlooked by the rest of the city, I would have expected it to fail there due to the "fix our infrastructure" rally cry.

Former councilman Danaher as well as Councilwoman McFlip-flop Weaver were suspiciously absent last night...They both have bright futures in KC politics!

Don't blame Enterprise.

Was the CAAT watch party at the Phillips? I was across the street at the Muelbach for the end of McCaskill's party, and if anything happened at the Phillips it was long gone by 10.

This is a testament to all of our hard work. If we could get the nimrod politicians out of our way we could have this place looking like Tupelo, Mississippi in no time! (just kidding)
Good job gang! Now let's get Barnes out of office and size up Charles Wheeler for a comeback!
See you at the arena! When Disney on Ice comes, I'll be the shirtless guy with the facepaint!

I don't we won. They paid the money to fight it so I can choose to not spend my money with them.

Congratulations! I am thrilled the arena vote passed. Now that it's over, do you think Cordish will start announcing tenants for KC Live?
It will be great to tell the waiter at Hard Rock Cafe "Hey, I'm in a hurry, trying to catch the NBA game across the street at Sprint Center".....just a couple of years away.
BTW, I have heard very few post-vote comments from the opposition. What have they had to say?

I heard some idiot from NKC on the radio say,"It's like putting lipstick on a pig" sighting the fact that Bartle Hall and 18th & Vine have failed to bring people to downtown. Don't these morons know that the arena is jus' a piece of a $2 billion development puzzle?Highlander wrote:BTW, I have heard very few post-vote comments from the opposition. Also, Hearne Christopher of the KC Star didn't seem too positive and he said that the Mayor and City lied more than Entrprise did. He also talked about how it costed Omaha $291 million for their 16k seat arena...the radio announcer put him in his place by sayin' Omaha's arena included a new convention center.

LOL...I could crank out better gossip not even leaving my apartment. Hearne = joke. He would be eaten alive in any other major city. He should be writing for the Sedalia Democrat.DiggityDawg wrote:Exactly....dude's not even a good gossip columnist. I could crank out better copy working about an hour a week.
