Went back to eat today.

Go there, bring friends!  My dog was awesome.  The owner said that he buys his dogs/sausages specially produced by Fritz's.

Saw a couple of guys eating tenderloins half the size of their head.  They said they were delicious.

Two women came by while I was there, wanting to order pig snout sandwiches.  The owner said that to date he only has snout on Mondays, maybe Tuesdays.  He said they are hard to keep well and have ready to go, so he only orders a limited amount until he can better judge demand.  One of the ladies said she used to eat them at a place that closed thirty years ago and that she fantasizes about the flavor.

If you order fries bring a friend or two.  Ridiculously huge serving of skinny cuts.

Delicious!  The sauerkraut is awesome.  I got ketchup, cheese, and sauerkraut on my dog, and the dog was almost twice the length of the bun.  It probably wasn't the best day to go - when I ordered, he said to go wait in my car and he'd bring it to me because it was raining and there really isn't anywhere covered to stand.  This would be awesome on a nice day, though.

Was hoping to go today, but passed with the rain.  That looks like a fistful of down and dirty river/rail grub and I want some.

If it doesn't have street-level retail, it's an abortion.

1-Time.  They were ahead of their time.

2-Place.  It was cool being on the railroad tracks, but people couldn't find it or didn't know it was there.

3-Money.  They had a huge debt to service.  It strangled them.

Finally made it yesterday.  Was raining so we ate in car.  Pretty much met expectations for grub food.  Chili on dog pretty decent. Fries OK. Belly was rumbling later, but I haven't had grub food in a while or even fried food of any kind for a while.

The locale is awesome gutter of industry. The road it's on is practically an access road. Should be named 'rail dogs' though as they are distant from river and surrounded by rails.

Recommend going for the ambiance and off beat experience.  It's just a dog afterall.  But good grub.  May try the tenderloin next.

Just finished my tenderloin and fries.

Pretty tasty sandwich. I'll certainly go back.

Also his menu shows a Chicago Dog with ketchup. Wrong, wrong, wrong. Mustard, not ketchup on your dog in Chicago.
