Since the business is shuttering, what do we think will happen to the building itself?

Having never been in, from the outside it seems like a rather large space. Is there any chance it could be converted to a B&B or apartments? Certainly would make for unique living quarters, close to downtown.

Needs to be a food and drink emporium for it's proximity to the Kauffman. Maybe something Parlor-esqe.

Either that, or some arts organizations might take it over. If UMKC had decided to put the Conservatory across the street, Webster House would have been another good building for UMKC to acquire for some purpose.

Seems like offices based on building layout.

Turning a school back into a school would be very fitting.

Webster House Closing, but Helzberg has No Plans to Walk Away
...
However, Helzberg has no plan to sell the historic building that she rescued from decay in 2000 and reopened in 2002 with a renowned restaurant upstairs and high-end antique shop and boutique below.
...
“Our family would like to maintain ownership,” she said. “We have no intention of selling. The main thing is to thank people for their support.”

It was really only doing well with events and on nights when Kauffman was hopping (but dead during the shows). Perhaps it will become an exclusive extension of the PAC for patrons and musicians only?

That's a good idea -- most large entertainment venues have patron lounges, like the Beranek Lounge for the BSO, the Belmont Room at the Met, or the Founders Club at the Kravis Center. The one drawback - Webster House is a hike from the concert hall. Donors often like to pop into the lounge for a stiff drink at intermission.

Good point. KC peeps cannot walk. Maybe a more casual performance + food venue featuring the KC Symphony? Like a chamber-orchestra-cocktail-lounge type thing? Is Shirley that hip?

Shirley might erect a stylized, airport-esque honky tube with moderate-speed moving walkways. If you can cross from terminal C to terminal D at DFW in 2 minutes, certainly a mechanism to move arts patrons the 200 feet from the "sky lobby" at Kauffman to a VIP lounge at Webster House in a similar timely fashion would be feasible.

So who moves into the Warner Brothers building that's caddy corner? It's also occupied by Global Prairie, but the Symphony moving opens up the majority of the space.
