Let's hope not. The Uptown hotel was supposed to be a "Moxy" brand. I'd consider Towne Place to be a considerable downgrade.

If hotel doesn't happen, would hope they fill corner of that lot with something if even a long narrow coffee shop along Broadway sidewalk.

Or to satisfy neighborhood parking issues for Uptown events, a garage with retail spaces surrounding it and up to both sidewalks. Would be a great location for Trader Joe's or even a bodega.

Normalthings, thanks for the photos. I have been meaning to drive down there to take some, but haven't gotten around to it.

Uptown Lofts Annex in the works. 84 additional units. This replaces the Moxy Hotel in the parking lot.

I bought it back in the beginning on November. Since I live in St. Louis and use it a lot there, I thought I’d bring it to KC to play around with.

Thanks for all the great drone shots, Chris! Very appreciated.

So sad to see that sod field behind the new apartments.

Chris, all of these photos across the threads are really fantastic. Thanks for doing this while you were in town!

Also, this project is looking better than I imagined. It will really come together when they decide what to do with the corner. Am I crazy or would this have been a good spot for the city to involve itself and try to create a neighborhood pocket park situation within the development? Just given the number of new residents nearby and that this intersection looks to be headed towards "neighborhood hub" status.

There's a newly-created open space right next door thanks to KC Life!
