Re: 16th & Baltimore Hotel
Floor 3 concrete forms were up as of mid last week.
So two floors down, eight to go.

Re: 16th & Baltimore Hotel
Looks like the central part of the guest tower is set back well from the street, allowing some of the south windows of Sporting Innovations to retain their view. Was this part of the original plan or was it done in deference to SI objections over the hotel project?

After the next floor is added it will be almost even with the top of the Sporting Innovations building.

Re: 16th & Baltimore Hotel
Looking at the construction today, I realize that I still have very little idea what this building is going to look like. Does anyone have any renderings that aren't a mile away by helicopter?

Strenth said Crossland is also kicking off work on a four-story, 72,000-square-foot, 156-space parking garage in the southeast corner of the lot located between Main Street and Baltimore Avenue.
Re: 16th & Baltimore Hotel
Will there be any retail facing main? Or just a garage?DaveKCMO wrote:http://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/n ... mplex.html

If there wasn't, I'm sure we would have raised a stink about it and I would have remembered

Re: 16th & Baltimore Hotel
From an older KC Biz Journal article:
http://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/n ... -with.htmlSchaedle said that both hotels will be in the same building and that the hotels' entrance will face Baltimore Avenue. The retail space will face Main Street and the under-construction, more than $100 million Kansas City streetcar line. The streetcar is expected to be operational in late 2015 or early 2016. Schaedle said Chartwell hasn't found a retail tenant yet.

Re: 16th & Baltimore Hotel
I'm interesting in learning more about the 4-story parking garage on the SE corner of 16th and Baltimore--that is mentioned in the article. That parcel is owned by Walnut Creek Ranch LLC, which is Shirley Helzberg's real estate holding company.DaveKCMO wrote:http://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/n ... mplex.html

Re: 16th & Baltimore Hotel
I think the article is poorly worded. There is a parking garage component of the hotel that will occupy the northwest corner of 16th & Main, AKA the southeast corner of the block bordered by Truman/16th/Main/Baltimore.
