No matter who owns them, Arvest gets points for sticking a bank at 31st and Prospect.

Maybe. But they ain't doin it for money, either. They're losing money keeping that branch open.

Anyone else hearing that Alamo may be shutting down in the near future?

I heard this third or fourth hand and didn't put much stock in it, but then I'm seeing on Reddit that the arcade machines are gone--which is kind of their thing in my experience. I'd hate to see this happen, I love that theater and Alamo's take on going to the movies.

I love going to moves at Alamo, would be too bad if they closed. I have noticed that the arcade is gone, but every movie I have gone to there has seemed relatively busy. With AMC and Alamo gone at this location, I wonder what would possibly move in? Seems like they would have the best chance to make that location work.

Worry not:

... it would also be kind of weird to close so soon after rolling out the rewards program (which no other Drafthouse has yet).

Walked by today and noticed signs of work happening inside. Most of the Alamo cutouts in the Main-facing windows are gone.

The Mainstreet Theater will be 100-years-old in October.
The 3,000-plus seat Mainstreet Theatre opened in October 30, 1921 with Conway Tearle in “After Midnight” on the screen and on the stage Eddie Foy & the Younger Foy’s in “The Foy Fun Revue” plus vaudeville acts.

Yes I went there too and looked in the windows this past weekend inside it- the whole place looks good and ready to go. Looks like a professional theatre on the inside.

Want to name it AMC coming to Empire...now it's Alamo...now it's B&B?
