Is there any word when construction will start on this? The site has sat fallow since demolition activity was completed. I recently noticed a sign added to the fence on the Main Street side, but other than that it's been crickets for weeks now.

There have been a lot of permits related to this development in the last couple of days. They have mostly been street-related permits for turning the area into a construction site.

You know how it is in KC. It will probably be another year before any more work is done.

For all we know some people started complaining that the development is too dense, and the site would be better suited as a parking lot...

There's another sign up on the Baltimore face of the fence. It has a contractor's name on there, which implies plans are still moving along.

KCPL was working on electrical today. there's not just a fence, construction is underway

There's still demolition work to be done, presumably. I was surprised when the demo contractor demobilized with so much of the basement floor slabs still in place. That could be to support the retaining walls along the sidewalk, I supposed - but then why demo so soon before construction? Oh well, as long as it gets built and built well!

Work has resumed on this site. It looks like all of the old foundation and basement walls have been removed along with the sidewalk vaults. Work is progressing daily as they presumably dig out for the garage.
