99% unrelated to 20th Street Streetscape but the above picture got me thinking. Assuming they are still in the building, why has Farm to Market bakery done nothing with their 20th Street space? They have a well-known and enviable local brand, and moved to a high-profile location in a fast growing, hip part of town. And yet, the building looks vacant. No public cafe, etc.

Seems like a missed opportunity. End of rant.

Just in time for the big Midwest Hotel project to destroy that section. That stretch in the pic will probably have to be resurfaced after 20th/Main project completes. Does the project pay for it or City?

I think that there will be some double row of trees, which will make it a real European Boulevard.

The 20th Street team worked pretty closely with the home2suites project to make sure all of their utility services were installed before paving was done. That project should not require utility cuts on 20th.
Because of the complexity of the BMP system along 20th street, the midwest hotel/herford house site will have to get all of their services from Walnut. AT&T approached the city about 3 weeks ago about a new cut on 20th. They had 9 months to move their existing stuff and add anything else they might need for the future. Long story short, they are coming down the alley.

nothing, unless more funding is found. same for the block east of grand (which carries a much higher price tag due to a tangle of utilities).
