What, you mean you don't appreciate comparing the dramatic variations in such diverse, and dramatic offerings as Heinekin, Fosters, Amstel Light, LaBatt's, Rolling Rock, and countless other factory lagers from around the world?  :D

I don't appreciate his grandstanding in the local press. And I don't consider making art for corporate HQ hip-- but that's just my "hipper-than-thou" attitude kicking in.

Do they have 1664 at Grinders? Its a French beer I've had in Edinburg, Paris, and here in Barcelona...it is soooo good!  When I come back to KC next week I wanna be able to drink it!

i didn't know it was hip. just thought it was a place to have a cheap beer and hangout with folks that are sort of like me in a socio-economic-psycho kinda way. i have met a lot of strange people there, not counting myself, of course.

must be time to find a new Sola's

Good beer bars don't just serve the expensive stuff--Grinder's also has some cheaper stuff.  Last year they had $2.50 Boulevards all day.

Blvd. draws are up to 3.75 now.  For a good Blvd. deal, try Dave's Stagecoach's 20 oz offering for four bones.  And a 'truer' KC atmosphere- 50 smoky years culminating in the best KC bar.  I mean, the fuckin' mailman drinks there!

Hello forum, Seems like the discussion of service is up again@Grinders..always a concern..it truly is.In order to serve faster, hotter food we have recently put in a new fancy pants POS system(computer system) to help speed service and prep time..LEARNING CURVE..Educating...new issues, new employees.. Were trying to gear up to handle the new venue outside(how can we do 2k people if we dont do 75)always my question?..Anton does run Grinders, I dont even know how to run the register,if you see me there,Im there to observe, say hi,and clean a table. As you can guess the employees move a little quicker(because I have a tail and wings)
Glad to see the support of my art,and the positive feed back on diving into new waters..
For the others please feel free to:

I think that would be the instruction for you and your employees when you see customers walk through the door.

Or a quick/cheap way to get shit-faced. I drink Bud for tailgating, but stick to other beers when I'm in the mood for enjoying the taste.

I stopped by Grinder's last night and the service was pretty prompt even though it was packed. The basil was left off of our first large pizza, which we had no complaints about, but a second pie was brought out a few minutes later - on the house - to make up for it. Really great pizza at this place.

I'm not a regular, but no complaints here...

I've come to love Grinders all over again, now that I've discovered the easy, cheap double wide.

Try the Dirty Dick beer. Delicious, but only have one. It's very rich.

Harvey House took a lot of grief when they first opened. The criticisms were valid but their diner fare is still moderately priced, moderately ok, and there service has risen from poor, to moderately good, with some exceptions in either direction.
