I'm surprised it's taken this long. I was down there taking pics of it a month ago and thought surely it'd be long gone by now.

Re: P&L District: 12th & Main Site Proposal
i was looking at Booth Hansen associate's website again. Here are some of the high rise buildings they've designed. I must have missed this section last time i was checking.....
hopefully they'll design something that looks more like their high rise designs than their regular multi-family res designs (shown on one the previous pages in this thread). I think the second Chicago building is roughly 22 stories.... maybe we'll get something similar?

Re: P&L District: 12th & Main Site Proposal
We can do a lot better than that. The streetfront of the building in this rendering looks as though it hardly cares about street-level design. I wouldn't say it's outright hostile to the street from a design perspective, but the designers could probably do better than this.
EDIT: that storefront for the grocery store really is miserable the more I look at it. But hey, who really gives two shits about quality design in this city anyway? Not many, apparently.

I hope the actual design is more consistent on where they place the balconies.
With those balconies being scattered everywhere it looks like a peice of shit.

Re: P&L District: 12th & Main Site Proposal
is that rendering from before they revised the numbers to 22 stories or after? Because my impression was that they said they were going to try to re-design the tower to look slimmer. Counting just the visible stories (without the grocery store or the fitness center) i can see 15-16 stories. Maybe they went for a number in between 15 and 22?

It's the most recent one I have seen at least. Where are the P&L Offices? I need to check that out if it is open to the public to view.KCPowercat wrote: yeah for some reason I think that was the older design....I thought I saw something slimmer at the P&L offices.

Do you just walk in and people are like "why the heck is that dude looking around in our office", or do they come talk to you?KCPowercat wrote: Not yet.

I'm just wondering, I don't want to go in there and be misinformed.
