I mean just why? Just fix the ground floor and I'm fine with it. Why why

Code says to hide ground floor parking from the street. Have to make it be about safety to fight it. Ex. Cars pulling out with no sidewalk viewsmh wrote:I remain baffled that a project can get incentives in this town and offer no ground floor transparency.
It's why the goal should be ground floor retail space. 1914 Main did a really good job at hiding their parking and is a great example to use.

It's nice to see everything happening in this area, but it's also become quite dangerous with this project, Traders (they've closed their temporary sidewalk now), and the bus stops on the other side. Bike lanes were blocked, pedestrians were blocked, and cars had obscured views. I hope they can improve it.

The way they have northbound Grand blocked to traffic at that spot is rather confusing, too. They ought to put some cones on the south side of the intersection to make it more apparent that you're supposed to cross the yellow line and pass to the left. I see a lot of people stop there looking confused and then turning right onto 12th because they think the street is closed.

Yeah, they've combined confused pedestrians, bikers, cars, and public transport somehow. Everyone ends up spilling into the street now in weird ways. And then you have the construction too obviously.

Minimalism is hard to pull off and more often looks cheap but this somehow works.

It makes a great transition between the original ambassador, with its classical facade, and the plain midcentury modern traders on grand next door

I agree, and I think Ambassador expansion looks even better in person. Perfect scale, really fills in that block. It makes a great transition between the original ambassador, with its classical facade, and the plain midcentury modern traders on grand next door
Also makes obvious how badly we need large infill projects on the blocks north and south of there along Grand.

This looks amazing -- reminds me of something you'd find in DC.
